Welcome to a brand new year! I am so excited to get to know all of my new students and their parents. It is going to be an exciting year. We are going to be spending a lot of time together, so let me introduce myself properly.
I was born and raised in Alabama. I lived in Alabama until 2000, and then I moved here to Georgia. My first home school was Walnut Grove Elementary School. There I taught second and third grade. When Youth opened in 2002, I moved over to teach third grade. I taught third grade for five years until I looped with one of my classes, and I have been in fourth grade since. Fourth grade is my favorite grade to teach because I love the curriculum. It is an exciting curriculum, but can be very challenging. I have been teaching for going on 17 years, and love working with students. There is no greater joy than to watch the amazement of a child when they learn something new. That makes teaching so worthwhile and rewarding.
My husband, two boys, two dogs, one cat, and I live in Loganville. We enjoy swimming, walking, cooking, traveling, and watching movies together. My oldest son graduated from Loganville High School in 2011, and my youngest son is going into eighth grade. All of us are really big Alabama fans! Roll Tide! I am glad to say that my partner, Mrs. Durel, is also a big Alabama fan! Football season is going to be fun!
It is a privilege and an honor to work with students, and I am looking forward to a great year!
