Mrs. Durel has placed a label on the inside of the Agenda on the back of the front cover for each child. The label indicates the student's AR level range and their AR goal for the 1st Quarter. All students must reach their AR points goal with at least 80% accuracy by October 4, 2012 in order to participate in the AR Party at the end of the Quarter. Students must reach the points goal AND the accuracy goal in order to attend the party.
Your child should be reaching the following milestones in order to be on track for meeting their points goal:
08/24/12 - 25% or more of points goal with 80% or better accuracy
09/07/12 - 50% or more of points goal with 80% or better accuracy
09/21/12 - 75% or more of points goal with 80% or better accuracy
10/04/12 - 100% or more of points goal with 80% or better accuracy
You may keep track of your student's progress by visiting the WCPS website, click on the "Parents" tab, and click on the "Accelerated Reading" icon. However, students are not able to access AR from home to take tests. Mrs. Durel will also be sending home an AR Status slip every other week so that you and your child have a snapshot of where he/she stands in regards to reaching their goals.
